Farrell Construction, with up to 100 staff, bring project managers, quantity surveyors, engineers, foreman, and carpenters to all our building projects. We hold a large body of highly skilled tradesman experienced in both residential and commercial building projects. Our own workforce ensures projects achieve quality assurance and programme delivery completion dates at all times.
Farrell Construction ltd was founded by Managing Director, Sean Farrell in 2012 and has grown to be a well established family run construction company based in Canterbury. Sean has worked as a construciton professional in varying fields from senior PM to client advisory. Sean's emphasis is client focused and he prides himslef on client engagement with successes only shown in delivery. The age old adgae of you are only as good as your last job rings true with Farreell Construction and Sean's aim is to leave clients at handover with a positive experience. Alison Farrell, Sean's wife is a Structural Engineer by profession having previously practiced in Ireland. Alison now runs the finance team as the finance director. Sean and Alison ran a successful business in Alison’s home town (Cork) in Ireland prior to coming back to New Zealand in 2009. Sean is born and bred in Canterbury coming from a farming family in Ashburton. Sean and Alison live with their three children in Christchurch. “Our aim is to provide a personal service with a dedicated team of professionals at hand to deliver. When you engage with Farrell construction you are dealing direct with the owner which I believe makes a big difference to our clients.”
Farrell Construction brings experience and craftmanship to the building industry New Zealand, across the Canterbury and Queenstown markets, working collaboratively with clients and partners in the delivery of residential and commercial projects. Our construction team specialise in concrete, structure, carpentry, and interior fit out with the ability to call on our own experienced estimators and quantity surveyors.

Sean has built an extensive career in the construction industry over the past 25 years in New Zealand and Europe. He has held leadership and strategic management roles in large construction companies such as Hawkins Construction before establishing Farrell Group. His broad range of expertise in managing and delivering quality projects began as a carpenter progressing through site and project management roles. Sean is able to deliver and manage projects getting alongside his clients and ensuring their needs and expectations are met and they are fully informed along the way.

Barry brings governance skills and executive experience from his impressive career in the mining industry as well as ‘not for profit’ organisations including Ngai Tahu Property the largest land developer in the South Island and Canterbury District Health Board who are undertaking the largest commercial projects in Canterbury. Barry leads the Farrell Construction’s Board and holds the chairman position.
With extensive strategic governance and directorship Barry brings discipline and challenges our leadership team at Farrell Construction to perform together in a collaborative environment. Under his leadership Farrell Construction as grown from strength to strength.

Andrew is an experienced manager with over 18 years’ experience in the construction industry both here in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. As the Contracts Manager Andrew is responsible for the day to day performance of the delivery team.

Commercial Manager
As Commercial Manager, Adriaan is responsible for the financial performance of the business including cost analysis, pricing and estimating. He is then responsible for overseeing the contract administration during the construction phase and as such has strong organisational and communication skills. With strong financial management Adriaan ensures an excellent result for all stake holders.
